BIOGRAPHY
Connie is committed to making art that is courageous, bold, hilarious, and inspires others to be themselves.
Connie Wang is an award winning actress and producer with over 20 film and TV credits. She has received 9 screen nominations, including 2 Canadian Screen Award Nominations for Best Lead Performance. She won Best Lead Actress at the Apulia Web Festival for her role in Tokens.
She has also produced and starred in critically acclaimed short films. A child of hard-working Chinese immigrants, Connie was born and raised in Canada.
Connie is bilingual, fluent in both English and Mandarin. Her parents taught her the importance of perseverance, positivity, and being confident in herself, which are all tools she took with her as she pursued her passions in Toronto.
Connie received her undergraduate degree in Theatre from the University of Toronto, where she developed a strong improvisation background and discovered her passion for comedy. She has been an ACTRA member since 2015, and has truly loved all her experiences in acting, directing and producing projects for film, tv and web. Her favourite project she has worked on is Tokens, directed by Canadian Screen Award winner Winnifred Jong.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Connie is a founding member of the Asians in the 6ix collective, and sits on the board of directors. Asians in the 6ix was created with the intent of instilling solidarity amongst Asian artists and filmmakers. She is also the founder of the Clothing Swap Revolution which inspires and empowers people to be aware of the impacts of their environmental choices as far as clothing and fashion. Connie is passionate about health and wellness, and practices mindfulness and plant-based eating. Her podcast Wonder Womb, focuses on Women's Reproductive Health, specifically overcoming Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) to inspire and empower women to experience holistic healing and to live their best life.
